Schools of West Marin
There are three general areas that fall under this title:- Bolinas - Stinson area
- The Shoreline Unified School District
- The Rural Schools of Marin which service the agricultural land and the students of the residents that work there
Bolinas-Stinson Union School District
This small K-8 school district serves 115 students from Stinson Beach, Bolinas and the nearby rural areas. There are two campuses: one serves K-2nd and the other serves 3rd-8th. All students graduating are served by the Tamalpais Union High School District.
Shoreline Unified School District
This is a K-12 school district serving the West Marin communities along Bodega and Tomales Bay. District enrollment is about 650 students. . All students graduating are served by the Tamalpais Union High School District.
Rural Schools:
Four rural school district serve the agricultural communities in the central corridor of Marin County--. Each district has only one school and very few students. The Laguna, Lincoln and Union Joint School Districts provide an educational program for K-6th grades. Students entering grades 7,8 and high school are served by the Petaluma Joint Union High School in Sonoma County. The Nicasio School District, the largest of the four, takes children K-8 and then they are served by the Tamalpais Union High School District (Tamalpias, Redwood or Sir Francis Drake and two alternative schools San Andreas and Tamiscal Independent). The combined enrollment of all 4 school districts is 115 students.
