Sausalito has shown remarkable price stability through the first 18 months of the national real estate price contraction and overall economic instability. The data regarding home prices for Sausalito does not show a decline from 2007 to 2008. This data is misleading on several fronts. First, far fewer condos are selling than in years past which is skewing average price data higher. In 2004, 96 condos sold in Sausalito versus 32 this year. Interestingly, the average price for a Condo in Sausalito increased this year 5.5%. Single family (SFR) home sales in Sausalito are also way down—in 2004, 90 SFR traded in Sausalito and this year only 41 sold.
